An Excipient is a substance formulated alongside the active ingredient of a medication, included for the purpose of long-term stabilisation, bulking up solid formulations that contain potent active ingredients (thus often referred to as “bulking agents”, “filters” or “diluents”), or to confer a therapeutic enhancement on the active ingredient in the final dosage form, such as facilitating drug absorption, reducing viscosity or enhancing solubility.
Vasa Pharmachem’s Excipients are subdivided into various functional classifications depending on the role they are intended to play in the formulations.
|Calcium Carbonate||Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Anhydrous||Dibasic Calcium Phosphate|
|Dibasic Calcium Phosphate, Granular||Lactose Monohydrate||Magnesium Hydroxide|
|Magnesium Carbonate (Light)||Magnesium Carbonate (Heavy)||Microcrystalline Cellulose|
|Magnesium Oxide (Light)||Magnesium Oxide (Heavy)||Tri Calcium Phosphate Anhydrous|
|Starch Maize||Starch Potato|
Pharmaceutical excipients are substances other than the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) that have been appropriately evaluated for safety and are intentionally included in a drug delivery system. Vasa aids the manufacturing process, to protect, support or enhance stability, or for bioavailability or patient acceptability.
